Consciousness is expanding, we are all being asked to live a more heart centered, passionate life. As we clarify what that means in our lives, the unconscious worries begin to appear.
For some, old fears are surfacing, creating inner turmoil. For others, anxiety and worry over what could go wrong is creating a cascade of discomfort. It’s perfectly normal to have fears show up when we are making courageous steps forward in life. Our fears remind us of our vulnerability but also help us to recognize where our limiting beliefs reside.
If you are experiencing major change whether a job, relocation, new relationship, end of a relationship, it is inevitable that your fears will show up. Don’t beat yourself up for having them. Instead, refocus your mind, body and spirit so that your fears are put to rest. Be grateful that you are aware of your fears and limiting beliefs. As soon as you acknowledge the information being communicated by your subconscious, you can begin to consciously shift your thoughts, feeling and actions.
Recognize that your fears and anxieties are probably based on something happening either in the past or future. Typically we don’t react with fear as we are tackling a current situation. It is repetitive focus on either past events or future events that cause fear to appear. We worry about mistakes in the past or we worry about things not working out as we desire in the future. Allowing these fearful thoughts to dominate our attention, only creates more fear and worry.
We can choose to change our thoughts, quiet the mind and in turn calm the emotions. Instead of focusing on the fears and letting them run wild through our imagination, choose to shift your focus. Identify the fear, write it down. Next, is the fear of an event that has already happened or has yet to happen? Is the fear based on something happening in this moment? Look around the room, what is happening right now? What is around you? What are you wearing? What are you drinking? Are you comfortable? Most of the time, when we allow our fears to take over our minds, we imagine whole events in our minds and begin to react to them as if they are real. It’s important to get back into present moment awareness. It’s important to remember where we are right now, what is happening right now. It doesn’t matter if something happened 5 minutes ago or 5 months ago, get back into your body and shift your awareness to THIS MOMENT.
Once you are grounded, centered in the moment, look at the fear you have written down and acknowledged. Now take that statement and write a positive affirmation, exactly the opposite of the fear. For example, “I fear not being finding a new job,” can be replaced with “I have faith that I will land the perfect job, at the perfect time.” Once you have a positive affirmation, write it down repeatedly until it is the dominant thought. Now, every time that fear comes in, state your positive affirmation out loud or write it down again.
Taking control of your thoughts and consciously choosing what you focus on, is the beginning steps of manifesting abundance in your life. Once you shift your focus, the anxiety automatically dissipates. Remember, be grateful for what you already have in your life, identify those things and more will come.
