It is unbelievable how thick some of their roots are and how deep they go. While other weeds seem to sprout up from under the sidewalk and rocks. As I struggled with pulling the weeds and untangled my beautiful flowers I began to have thoughts about life.
Our minds and thoughts can be likened to a beautiful flower garden. When healthy and in full bloom, flowers are magnificent to the senses. It doesn't take long though for weeds to take over a garden that hasn't been tended. The mind is the same way. When we are conscious we walk with positive, creative, life affirming thoughts that create love and harmony in our lives and others. Yet when the mind goes unchecked, little negative thoughts slowly take hold. When we are not conscious of our words, thoughts and actions we can quickly lose our focus. Beauty is replaced by darkness, imagination is clouded by pessimism. Like a garden, the mind needs to be tended to. Negative thoughts, like weeds must be quickly and fully removed from the mind.
Like my adventure in weeding today, tending to the mind can be hard work. Identifying negative thoughts, unloving attitudes and judgments is easy. Working to eliminate those same things is work. You must be vigilant in your awareness of the things in your mind in order to remove those things. While it may take work, I assure you will be rewarded with a life that radiates beauty, joy, compassion and love. Obstacles will be small and you will be in the flow of receiving the things in alignment with love.
